Wedding Day Insights

Arriving at the Harold Pratt House

The Harold Pratt House is the headquarters of the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan think tank specializing in U.S. foreign policy and international affairs.

As a result, there is a formal security protocol in place.

For security reasons, no unlisted guest or vendor will be permitted entry without prior authorization from the Council. All guests attending were submitted to the Council already.

Harold Pratt House Logstics

Following the ceremony in the Altschul Room, guests will make their way up the grand winding staircase to the second floor for cocktail hour, held in the Rubin Library and Effron Hall.

For those who need assistance, an elevator is located at the base of the staircase.

After cocktails, guests will be invited into the Rockefeller Room for dinner and toasts.

To cap off the evening, we’ll head back downstairs to the Altschul and Hauser Rooms for first dances, dessert, and dancing.

At the end of the night, join us outside for a festive sparkler exit, followed by a Night Cap Cocktail with the Bride and Groom at the Loews Regency Hotel Bar & Grill.

Signature Drinks

Since we're getting married over Memorial Day Weekend and kicking off the summer, our signature cocktails are inspired by some of our favorite summer vacations.

Claire’s drink is a Rosemary Grapefruit Gin & Tonic — a nod to the refreshing G&Ts we always enjoy after long beach days on Long Beach Island. When we first started going to LBI together, James began making this version with rosemary and grapefruit, and it quickly became Claire’s favorite.

James’ signature cocktail is an Aperol Spritz, inspired by summers spent in Europe with friends. Aperol is a staple on those trips, and anyone who knows James knows how much he loves a good spritz in the summer sun!

Guest Book & MetroCards

If you're not from New York City, you might not know that the MetroCard has long been the primary way to pay for the subway—it's a true NYC icon. But as tap-to-pay turnstiles have now been installed in every station, the MTA plans to retire the MetroCard at the end of 2025.

Since we're getting married in 2025, we thought it would be the perfect way to commemorate both our special year and our favorite city. After signing our guestbook, please also sign your name on a MetroCard. We'll turn them into a piece of art for our home—a keepsake of this unforgettable day with the people we love.

Vintage NYC Checkered Cab

Outside the Harold Pratt House, you’ll spot a vintage New York City Checkered Cab—a true slice of Manhattan history. The bride and groom will have taken photos with it earlier in the day, but we wanted to share it with all of you as part of the celebration.

Feel free to snap some photos in front of or inside the cab before heading into the venue.

It’s our little tribute to classic NYC.
